Happy Bike to Work Day!

Happy National Bike to Work Day (yes, it’s a real thing)!

Here’s a random bike fact to start your Fun Friday: a bicycle can stay upright without a rider as long as it’s moving at 8mph or faster.

Here’s another fun fact for you and your business: A business can not stay upright without a proper marketing plan and someone to implement them. That’s right, you have to have a plan AND a way to implement that plan. Without implementation, that marketing plan is really just a wish list of best intentions.

One of the best tactics to help with implementation is to take your marketing goals and break them down into a list of small actionable items. From there you will gain clarity on where to start, how to start, and who to bring in to help you reach your goals.

If you find yourself needing someone to help you weed through your thoughts, ideas, and goals for your business and build a plan with actionable steps for implementation contact crystal@buehlerdesigns.com.

Indiana Caverns

As a mom and entrepreneur the ability to do both is always a bit of a juggling and balancing act.

Indiana Caverns excursion

Owner of Buehler Designs and Director of Personality took a fun day-trip excursion to Indiana Caverns.

Today, I was able to combine business and family time with a fun-filled day at Indiana Caverns in Corydon, Indiana. I took my Director of Personality along for the ride to discuss some new marketing ideas. While we were there we took the opportunity to go on a cave tour and take in the fascinating wonders this cave has to offer!

Indiana Caverns is one of the oldest caves and newest attractions to Southern Indiana. It opened to the public 2013, however it’s been around for at least 12,000 years with many Ice Age bones as proof of it. Most of the bones were from flat-headed pecarries that herded together in the ice age, but black bear, fishers, and bison bones were also included on our tour.

Indiana Caverns spectacular formations

The cave tour is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes long which was great for the attention span of my Mr. Personality. It included a fun, guided tour learning about cave life, spectacular views of formations and a 35′ waterfall, a unique boat ride taking you back into the depths of total darkness, sightings of the ice age bones, and more.

This is a must-see cave with many exciting excursions for all ages. They are open 9am – 5pm daily so go plan your family day-trip there now!

Officially Launched!

So this was a big week for me. The week that I decided to pull the Band-Aid off with my business and officially launch it full time. This has been a whirlwind, but a dream come true.

I was featured here by the Dubois County Herald, here by the Dubois County Free Press, and here by Inside Indiana Business. All great affirmations that this is what I should be doing right now!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. But I wasn’t always sure on how or what, and at times those two questions were very overwhelming. It has taken me years to finally figure out all the pieces to the puzzle I needed to have a successful business, and I definitely did not do it alone. I’m so thankful for all those that have given me words of wisdom or help along the way.

Downtown 4th Street, Huntingburg, IN

As with anything in life, you have to do your research and seek guidance. And then you have to spread your wings and fly. Sometimes you fall and make mistakes along the way. But I have learned, as long as you keep going, learn from those mistakes, and make adjustments along the way, you will be successful.

Here are some things I’ve learned just this week…

The community I live in is much more awesome than I ever imagined. The amount of love and support I have received has made my heart overflowing with joy and pride. Way to go Huntingburg, IN! You really are a city like no other!

I’m very blessed to have the family and friends that I do. They are ready, willing, and able to be a sounding board for thoughts, ideas, and feedback. They also know how to get me to loosen my reins for fun and laughs, too!

And my children, while they may be annoyed at times because I’m busy at work on my computer, they understand I’m working hard to achieve my dreams and they are learning that determination does pay off.
